Board certified Neurologist Dr. Eric Cohen serves patients in New Jersey as a physician with the Summit Medical Group. Dr. Eric Cohen focuses on treating neurological conditions such as epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, dementia, headaches, sleep disorders, and muscular sclerosis, among others. Dr. Eric Cohen also serves as Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurology at Mount Sinai Medical Center as well as an adjunct assistant professor at UMDNJ. He is an Attending Neurologist at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey. In 2009 and 2010, New Jersey Monthly Magazine named Dr. Eric Cohen the Best Doctor. Before establishing his private practice, Dr. Eric Cohen trained in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology at New York University Medical Center. During his fellowship, Dr. Eric Cohen focused on electroencephalography (EEG), which records electrical activity caused by neurons firing within the brain, and electromyography (EMG), which evaluates the electric activity of skeletal muscles. Dr. Eric Cohen also trained in epilepsy, a seizure disorder, and clinical neurophysiology, the study of the functions of the nervous system. In addition to his fellowship, Dr. Eric Cohen operated as Chief Resident in Neurology at New York University Medical Center. Dr. Eric Cohen also completed an internship at the Maimonides Medical Center of Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he studied Internal Medicine. Today, Dr. Eric Cohen complements his professional experience and medical training with membership in numerous organizations, including the American Academy of Neurology, the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, the Cranial Academy, and the American Osteopathic Association. Dr Cohen has a dedicated interest in Biodynamic Osteopathy. Dr. Eric Cohen holds a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he graduated with high honors.
